Marina Mari
Teacher and Curriculum Design Lead
Marina Mari, originally from São Paulo, Brazil, brings a rich academic background and diverse experience to Summit Micro School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Drama, a graduate specialization in Portuguese Language and Literature, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Pedagogy from OISE, University of Toronto.
Passionate about democratic education, Marina believes in sharing decisions with students and tailoring learning to their interests. She values Summit’s supportive leadership, flexibility, and emphasis on project-based and outdoor learning. Marina enjoys fostering connections with students and staff and sees every field trip and project as an opportunity for hands-on learning.
Outside of teaching, Marina enjoys reading, crochet, biking, and Forró dancing. She also co-owns a holistic education school in Brazil, a passion she has nurtured for the past decade. At Summit, she is dedicated to inspiring curiosity, creativity, and resilience in her students.
